Strong exhibitor line-up and comprehensive medical technology showcase at Medical Manufacturing Asia 2012
SINGAPORE – The increasing demand for medical manufacturing processes, services and solutions has prompted a surge of representation at Asia’s premier medical technology exhibition, Medical Manufacturing Asia 2012. Taking place at Suntec Singapore, 12 – 14 September, the exhibition profiles innovative solutions from leading market players for the benefit of medical technology buyers from across the Asia Pacific region.
Targeted buyers from across the Asia Pacific are seeking new products, solutions, services to keep abreast of industry trends and developments. According to Michelle Leong, Project Manager for MEDICAL MANUFACTURING ASIA: “It will be the most important and relevant trade exhibition for industry professionals in the medical technology manufacturing sector to source for products, meet new business contacts, build partnerships, and keep abreast of industry trends and developments.”
The joint organizers – Messe Düsseldorf Asia and the Singapore Precision Engineering & Tooling Association (SPETA) – report that “exhibitor registration from local companies is very strong” for the biennial event, which will feature some 150 leading international and local companies under five main categories:

Expected to draw a strong visitorship of 5,000 trade visitors, the industry focused MEDICAL MANUFACTURING ASIA 2012 aims to raise industry standards, by connecting market players such as manufacturers, suppliers, systems partners, researchers, engineers and technical buyers, including:
- Powder Injection Moulding (PIM) technology
Advanced Materials Technologies and Dou Yee Technologies will feature Powder Injection Molding (PIM) technology for various industries including medical original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
- Moulding, design & prototyping
On show are plastics injection moulding contract manufacturers equipped with 10,000 and 100,000 clean-room facilities and DIN 13485 quality management, as well as value engineering activities with various polymeric materials include but not limited to research & development, product design, prototyping through various manufacturing value-added processes, sub-assemblies, sterilization and final packaging. Featured contract manufacturers include Cambus Corporation, Fischer MedTech, Meiban Group, Miyoshi Precision, Racer Technology, Sunningdale Tech and Shin Yan Sheno Precision Industrial among many others.
- Machining & tooling fabrication
This area of medical manufacturing is represented by contract manufacturers with capabilities in in-house design and manufacturing of demanding tooling to support the medical device OEMs of plastic and metal parts. Precision contract manufacturers offering various machining capabilities such as Fong’s Engineering & Manufacturing, Globaltronic Bio-Tech Precision, Miyoshi Precision, Swiss Precision Industries and Yangbum Engineering will also be at the exhibition.
- Customised springs and mould & die components
Contract manufacturers like Advanex (Singapore) and Ka Shin Technologies (Singapore) will present their capabilities in manufacturing quality standard and customised components for mould & die tooling.
- Medical manufacturing machine tools
Globally acclaimed machine tool builder Agie Charmilles (SEA) will showcase micro-orthopedic machine tools for organic elements (bones) replacement while Makino Asia will feature their latest micro-machining range of machining centers.
Representing premium Swiss brands such as Tornos, Bumotec, Schneegerger, EWAG, Schaublin and Amsonic, Munger Machine Tool will present specialized medical technology machining solutions at the exhibition. Hong Chek will feature a comprehensive series of 3D prototyping printers.

On show, renowned global brands include 4T Technologies, Blum Production Metrology, Heidenhain Pacific, Henko Machines Tools, Nikon Singapore, Optical Gaging Singapore and Vision Engineering (represented by Chiptronics Singapore) featuring a diverse range of medical manufacturing metrology equipment.

Elastomeric solution providers such as Rayco Technologies, and EMS companies C & W Electronics, and surface finishing service providers Singapore Epson Industrial offering complementary competencies towards a complete supply chain contract manufacturing enterprises with world class manufacturing capabilities will also be present.
