38 hospitals awarded accreditation certificates

38 hospitals have been awarded with the MSQH Hospital Accreditation Performance Award: 4 Year certificate for 4th Edition Standards at the MSQH conference in Putraraja on Monday.

The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Measuring Performance: 15 years MSQH Hospital; Accreditation Program – Achievements and Challenges’

Recipients of this award include Kedah Medical Centre, Hospital Balik Pulau and KPJ Damansara Specialist Hospital.

Deputy Director-General of Health (Research and Technical Support), Ministry of Health, Malaysia Dr Shahnaz Murad delivered a speech describing the importance of quality assurance in the Ministry of Health.

“Patient safety and quality is a top priority in the Ministry of Health and this is demonstrated daily by all our dedicated team of healthcare professionals and workers in all our healthcare facilities and services,” she said, adding that “quality improvement […] is indeed a continuous process”

The Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH) is a professional not-for-profit organization registered under the Registrar of Society (ROS). It was the brainchild of the Ministry of Health Malaysia in collaboration with the Association of Private Hospitals of Malaysia and the Malaysian Medical Association.

MSQH is dedicated to improving the quality of the nation’s health care through voluntary accreditation. The Malaysian Hospital Accreditation Standards are intended to stimulate continuous, systematic improvement in an organization’s performance and the outcomes of care.

Talks and exhibitions are being held at the event which ends today.
