International collaboration aids innovations in medical education

March 5, 2012

MALAYSIA – Many people are looking for opportunities in personal growth, exploring a career change or even second income after retirement. The London College of Clinical Hypnosis (LCCH) has launched a programme, which allows you to do just that.

Hypnosis Explained

Hypnosis is a method to tap into your inner mind and access your inner resources. It is a safe, relaxing experience that leaves you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Most people can enter hypnosis easily and a clinical hypnotherapist takes you through the process, helping you to solve your problems and achieve your true potential.

Many illnesses respond to clinical hypnosis. In fact, the Royal Society of Medicine (UK) recommends clinical hypnosis for its cost saving benefits to healthcare. Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), recovery from operations, hypertension, obesity, pregnancy, pain management, and treating bad habits such as smoking, procrastination, addiction, working with children, anger management, phobias, depression, and even weight management are on the list.

Becoming a Hypnotherapist

Clinical Hypnotherapist can provide a guide to the right emotional path, helping people find meaning in their lives. It is important to get good training when you are working with people’s lives and the London College of Clinical Hypnosis collaborates with the Academy of Family Physicians Malaysia to ensure the best care to patients and the highest standards of training.

LCCH Principal Sheila Menon explains that there are three types of students: “Those who want something for themselves, those who are building a second career (after retirement), those who become professional clinical hypnotherapists (or are already doctors and psychologists),

“Not all our students have prior experience, so we provide the right support and comprehensive training. Classes are fun, with demonstrations, practice sessions, and the opportunity for personal sharing.”

Biggest satisfaction

Perhaps the biggest satisfaction is the benefit that clinical hypnosis brings. Menon said: “Just going in and out of clinical hypnosis, our students become more confident, relaxed, and experience a greater sense of happiness, “There are many technical reasons for this, but the practice is simple,

“We design the first part of the LCCH course to provide personal empowerment as well as clinical training. Many people report life-changing experiences, some small and some significant,” said Menon.

LCCH Courses

Everyone starts with the Foundation or Certificate Course. It is an exciting first step and students also take advantage of the free therapy and coaching session on this course. On the Diploma, the serious journey begins, and students learn many advanced techniques that will help patients.

Menon said about half of LCCH students go on to work with serious conditions. Graduates work in hospitals, and GP clinics, or join an International Register of qualified practitioners.

Others work as corporate trainers, clinical hypnotherapists, and coaches. Some join the LCCH team at LCCH Centers in Kuala Lumpur, Johor Baru, Penang, and Singapore.

There are so many conditions that respond, and it provides valuable life-style skills too. New courses commence in March 2012. LCCH has Centers in KL, JB, Penang and Singapore.
