Punjab’s cashless cancer treatment

PUNJAB, India – Punjab’s chief minister Parkash Singh Badal has announced a new scheme that will provide cashless treatment to cancer patients.

The treatment will be at 18 empanelled hospitals from January.

Treatment will be financed from the chief minister’s Cancer Relief Fund and patients need not obtain prior sanction for availing of the facilities there. The chief minister is a cancer survivor while his wife died of cancer.
