Aphrodisiac foods you must eat

Strawberries
Legends say that strawberries were the favourite food of Venus, the goddess of love. And experts say that strawberries are good for your sex life since they boost the adrenal gland, known to produce hormones that help women orgasm. So, if you want to raise temperatures in the bedroom, tuck into some strawberries with vanilla ice-cream.

Basil
Use this herb, which is known to improve blood flow and increase heart rate, to spice up your sex life. Whether you use it as a topping over soup or add it over food, basil is known to enhance desire.

Celery
While the last thing you might feel like eating is celery, especially to get in the mood, it is a great stimulant. Try having some celery sticks with sour cream or a tangy dip or add it in a soup or salad. Celery has androsterone — a hormone known to excite men. Eating celery makes men release pheromones, known to attract women.

Cinnamon
Experts say that cinnamon heats up the body, which in turn boosts your sex drive. Its anti-inflammatory properties also normalise blood sugar. Mix crushed cinnamon in a glass of milk before going to bed.

Curry
We bet you didn’t know that the humble Indian curry is a great aphrodisiac. Studies say that spicy curry increases heart and blood pressure to levels akin to one reached during arousal. So the next time you make curry, add fenugreek in it, which is known to increase the production of testosterone.

Aniseed
One of the most popular aphrodisiacs, aniseed is a favourite ‘bedroom dish’. Add aniseed to your chicken dish or even just pasta. Alternatively you can even add its seeds to a cocktail.

Honey
Honey is packed with vitamin B and known to support testosterone production.

Ginger
Ginger is known to increase circulation and body temperature, which in turn increases desire.

Other popular aphrodisiacs are avocados, pine nuts, cardamom, celery, garlic, almonds, chili peppers, watermelon, asparagus and vanilla.
