Ear-O-Smart earrings tracks pulse and fitness activities
EAR-O-Smart wearables look and feel just like earrings but they’re packed with sensors capable of taking your pulse and monitoring your exercise for fitness tracking.
Founders admit on the company’s crowd-funding page that their gadget’s sensors are conventional to the fitness tracking industry, but it’s where they’re mounted that makes the difference.
Because an earring is mounted with more stability than a bracelet that flip-flaps across the wrist during workouts, Ear-O-Smart is capable of more accurate readings.
Data from food logging and activity and heart rate tracking is organised for viewing on the corresponding app downloadable on iOS and Android devices.
Customers are invited to design their smart earrings when they opt for the Do-It-Yourself kit for 150 CAD (US$131).
The product can be pre-ordered starting at 125 CAD (US$110) with delivery expected in June if the project attains its fundraising goal of 30,000 CAD.
