Garcinia Cambogia extract is now proven to be an effective fat fighter

April 22, 2014

Garcinia Cambogia is a new, revolutionary fat-loss agent, and it is on the front line in the war against obesity. A 2013 peer-reviewed study of 128 obese, non-diabetic patients revealed significant weight loss while using Garcinia Cambogia extract without any change to diet or exercise. Garcinia has recently been recognized by many healthcare and fitness professionals “as a revolutionary breakthrough in health science.” This has prompted many overviews of the product.

Questions of Safety

Garcinia Cambogia is simply another name for the common recipe ingredient Tamarind, used frequently in South-East Asian and Indian curries. The dried fruit has been used safely and without adverse effect in these cultures for hundreds of generations. Few supplements on the market are able to make a claim of such historical magnitude, making Garcinia Cambogia one of the safest fat-loss supplements ever available. With the danger of other, less effective fat-loss products that have been released over the years, Garcinia Cambogia extract passes the safety test with flying colors, providing the supplement is of superior quality. It should be noted that one Garcinia Cambogia extract product was pulled from the market in 2009, after it was discovered to cause chemical-related liver damage. This was due to poor business practice by the product distributor, not the extract itself. The use of recommended and tested brands will ensure safe weight loss. Unlike other, more traditional weight-loss supplements such as Ephedrine, Synephrine, and Caffein, Garcinia Cambogia is NOT a stimulant. It does not work by turning up the bodies metabolism, and as such does not carry the dangers of stimulants such as: Elevated hear-rate, high blood pressure, uncontrolled sweating, poor and irritable moods, anxiety, constipation, as well as increased risk of heart attack and stroke. Garcinia Cambogia is therefore considered safe for dieters of all levels.

Effectiveness

Indian Ayurvedic medicine has used Garcinia Cambogia for many generations as an effective digestive enhancer. This, in conjunction with the startling low obesity rate in countries that use Garcinia Cambogia in their daily diets caused a great deal of interest to the medical community. Today a multitude of peer-reviewed studies back up what is bing said, Garcinia Cambogia does indeed work for weight loss. Studies show a decrease in emotional eating, decrease in the storing of fat, and an increased release of fat already stored. Garcinia Cambogia leaves you in a better mood, higher energy levels, and a slimmer waist line.

How Does Garcinia Cambogia Work?

The effects of Garcinia Cambogia are bi-phasic, this means it works via two separate pathways. First, it appears to have an immediate effect on serotonin levels in the brain, the “feel good” chemical. By increasing levels of serotonin, mood is increased and appetite is suppressed; effectively eliminating emotional eating habits (2). Second, a chemical in the extract called Hydroxy-citric Acid (HCA) interrupts the bodies ability to synthesize fatty acids, effectively blocking fat from being stored and leaving it readily available as an immediate source of energy. This not only leads to significant fat loss, but greatly increases energy levels and highly enhances feelings of well being. Recent research suggests that Garcinia Cambogia may act by a third pathway, directly attacking abdominal fat. Instead of storing fat, it releases the fat to be used immediately by the body as a source of energy. Although tests are still being done to confirm this third pathway, the implications are incredible. One 2014 Journal of American Suppliments study revealed significant weight loss among users without changing diet or exercise (2). That isn’t to imply that diet and exercise aren’t important, but as a testament to the power of this product as a potent anti-obesity agent.

Safety During Pregnancy and Breast Feeding

It should be noted that NO studies have been conducted on Garcinia Cambogia and pregnant or breast feeding women. Although there is no reason to believe it would be harmful, due to a lack of research, use is strongly discouraged during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Use of Garcinia Cambogia should wait until breastfeeding is discontinued.

Indian Ayurvedic medicine also recommends withholding use of Garcinia Cambogia if pregnant, as weight gain is considered both natural and healthy during pregnancy. Ayurvedic medicine shows the weight loss is counter-productive to a healthy pregnancy. Access superior quality Garcinia Cambogia used in scientific studies here.
