Metaball puts the gym in your gymbag
After five years of blood, sweat and tears, former army ranger and fitness model Greg Plitt has made his modular, multi-use, portable gym available for pre-order.
Because Metaball has handles, all the kettlebell movements are possible, but that’s just the beginning. Because the product is round, all the medicine ball movements are possible, too.
The product separates, making it possible to add and remove weight, and the product comes with two 2.5lb bars. Each end has a handle, so it can be used in two pieces as barbells.
A locking nut enables the attachment of fitness bands, and a world of new moves is possible if customers order the package in which they are included.
The most deluxe package offers slim metal foot weights, balancing the product’s focus, which is mainly on the upper body. This package also offers rings enabling ball-bearing assisted push-ups, and a carry-all gym-bag.
Plitt, who has graced the covers of an estimated 100 magazines, provides his workout DVDs in each package he offers, offering a total of six, 10 or 12 workouts among the three available packages.

Metaball reflects a growing trend of portable, multi-purpose fitness equipment, one such example being SmartFlex, among the featured products at the 2014 IDEA World Fitness Convention held from August 13 through 17 in Anaheim, California.
Like Metaball, SmartFlex is a modular unit that can be broken down into two bars to be used together or separately, with the possibility for resistance training with adjustable weights when the spring-loaded function is called into action.
SmartFlex also enables a multitude of moves, many of which are used in physical therapy, and has a wide range of applications since resistance training is optional.
