Straighten up your hair Naturally
Straight hair never goes out of trend. While some of us have naturally straight locks, the rest of us have to spend a bomb trying to perfect the straight hair look. We often end up damaging the hair by using chemicals and excessive heat
Here are some natural products that may not give you the poker straight effect of salon-styled hair, but will be worth your effort. Apart from saving money, you will also be nourishing your locks with these kitchen-shelf remedies:
Hot Oil:
Regular hot-oil treatment not only nourishes the hair but is also effective as a straightening technique. Massage the scalp and hair with a mixture of coconut and olive oil and cover the hair with a hot towel. Wash it off after 45 minutes with a shampoo.
Milk:
Spray milk over your hair with a spray bottle and leave it on for 30 minutes, followed by a shampoo. Milk can work as a useful agent to straighten the hair and make them flatter.
Honey:
You can also add some honey to the milk, stir it to make a textured paste and apply it on your hair. Wash off, once it has dried up. Adding mashed strawberries and bananas to the paste, too, can do wonders and provide hair nourishment.
Coconut Milk:
Coconut has qualities that make hair softer and manageable. Add lemon juice to coconut milk and keep it in the refrigerator. It would form a layer of cream on top. Apply the cream to your hair and wrap your head in a hot towel and leave for about an hour. Wash off with a mild shampoo.
Olive Oil and Eggs:
We have often used these two separately as hair care remedies, but mixing them works wonders for hair straightening. Beat two eggs and add two tablespoons of olive oil. Apply on your hair and leave it for a few hours before washing.
Natural conditioner:
Use natural conditioners such as shea butter and avocado oil to repair and soothe your hair. You can also boil tea leaves in hot water. It’s a great conditioner for naturally curly hair.
