Vinegar for treating skin problems
Vinegar is manufactured by fermenting ethanol. It derives most of its properties from its key component acetic acid. However, the exact properties of different types of vinegar may depend upon the source of the ethanol. The common white vinegar is manufactured by oxidizing distilled alcohol.
The best vinegars are obtained by fermenting ethanol obtained from fruits such as apples and grapes. Along with acetic acid, vinegar derived from fruits contains small amounts of citric acid, various vitamins, minerals and enzymes.Vinegar is an inexpensive ingredient for treating skin problems. It lightens the skin, restores the normal pH of the skin and soothes irritation and itching.
As Astringent
Vinegar can be used as an astringent. It helps to tighten the pores, reduce excess oil secretion and helps to restore the normal pH balance of the skin.
After washing your face thoroughly, dilute 1/10 teaspoon of vinegar, preferably apple cider vinegar, with a teaspoon of water, and with a cotton ball dab the diluted vinegar all over your face.
This is especially beneficial for people who are bothered by excessive oil secretion and frequent acne eruptions.
As Cleanser
Vinegar can be used for unclogging the pores of the skin clogged by dirt and oil. Put your face over a container containing steaming hot water and cover your head with a towel to trap the steam. The steam will help to open the pores of your skin. Now to remove the dirt and oil from the pores, wipe your face with cloth soaked in diluted vinegar. Besides cleaning the skin, vinegar also helps to close the open pores.
Treats Acne
Vinegar can also be used for treating mild acne eruptions. The antibacterial property of vinegar helps to kill the bacteria responsible for acne outbreaks.

Vinegar can also be used for soothing the painful symptoms of sunburn. Soak a washcloth in white vinegar diluted with water and place it on the affected area. It will immediately calm the burning sensation that occurs from severe sunburn.
You can reapply vinegar, if the burning sensation returns. Diluted acetic acid, the main ingredient in vinegar, vaporizes at lower temperature, which helps to cool the sunburned areas of the skin.
Remedy For Skin Burn
Vinegar is an excellent natural remedy for skin burns. It is especially effective in treating skin burns caused by exposure to alkaline chemicals such as sodium hydroxide, commonly found in household cleaners and industrials solvents.Acetic acid, a weak acid present in vinegar, neutralizes the alkaline chemical. If an alkaline solution accidentally falls on your body, immediately wash the affected area with water, and then apply vinegar to the site.
Treats Toenail Fungal Infections
Vinegar can also be used for treating nail fungal infections. Prepare a solution by mixing vinegar and water in the ratio 1:2 and soak your toes in the solution, at least for fifteen minutes, each day. Acetic acid kills the fungus responsible for the infection.
