Eat food high in fibre for long life, study says
A study involving nearly 1 million people found that eating high-fibre food prevents people from dying of any cause.
Fibres are known to lower the risk of chronic diseases, including stroke, heart disease, diabetes and a few types of cancers.
People are encouraged to eat more fibre “”to potentially decrease the risk of premature death,” writes Yang Yang, of the Shanghai Cancer Institute in China and his colleagues in the American Journal of Epidemiology.
The study involved analysing 17 previous studies where they tracked the American Journal of Epidemiology.
