What type of insulin do I need?

You should opt for liquid insulins as insulin in pills may be broken down by ingestion. These come in either fast-acting insulins (which works within 15 minutes and lasts to 3 hours) to long-acting ones, which usually lasts a day.

How much does it costs?

Prices vary for different insulins. If you can’t afford injections, ask your doctor for assistance.

How often do I have to inject the insulin?

Inject only once a day for starters, but this varies depending on your healthcare regimen, such as exercise routine, diet and other treatmens. Injections needed can go up to 3 to 4 shots a day.

Other options to insulin injections.

If you are afraid of the needle, fret not, there are other alternatives:

  • Insulin pens, which is less painful than syringes.
  • External insulin pumps to wear on your belt or carry in your pocket.
