The agreement comes as Thailand faces a spike in Covid-19 infections. Between May 11 and 15, health officials reported 14,751 new cases and one death. Since the start of the year, Thailand has recorded over 84,000 infections and 24 deaths. Officials attribute the rise to seasonal factors and increased social interaction during holidays and the school term.
