SEACare 2025 wraps up with RM 1.1 billion in potential sales; Sets stage for bigger return in 2026
As Malaysia continues to strengthen its position as Southeast Asia’s hub for healthcare and pharmaceuticals—with strategic alliances and high-level participation across medtech, biopharma, digital health, and more—the SEA Healthcare & Pharma Show (SEACare) 2025, the region’s premier healthcare, medical, and pharmaceutical trade show, concluded on a high note after a successful three-day run at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) from 23 to 25 April. The event attracted over 10,800 trade visitors from across the region, generating potential sales valued at more than RM 1.1 billion.
Bringing together 130 exhibiting brands across 250 booths from 13 countries and markets, SEACare 2025 reaffirmed Malaysia’s position as a regional hub for healthcare collaboration and innovation. The event was supported by key agencies, including the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), the Medical Device Authority (MDA), and SIRIM Berhad, whose joint efforts through the International Sourcing Programme (INSP) and the Hosted Buyers Program created valuable global networking and business opportunities for local and regional healthcare players.
One of this year’s standout achievements was the launch of the Zafar VC Fund, in collaboration with SEACare’s conference partner, 5 Pillar Ventures. The fund attracted eight early-stage healthtech and medtech startups, which pitched to a room of investors and regional stakeholders. While no immediate funding commitments were made, the initiative sparked over 70 new connections among startups, investors, and mentors—reinforcing SEACare’s growing role as a launchpad for early-stage innovation and ecosystem development.
Looking ahead to SEACare 2026
Following the strong reception of this year’s event, organisers announced that SEACare 2026 will return to MITEC Kuala Lumpur from 28 to 30 April 2026, with plans to expand in both scale and sector focus. The next edition aims to generate RM 1.5 billion in potential sales and welcome 200 exhibiting companies and 15,000 trade visitors, further reinforcing its role in driving regional growth and collaboration in the healthcare industry.
A key highlight of the next edition will be the integration of SEACare 2026, the Scientific Convention and Trade Exhibition (SCATE) by the Malaysian Dental Association (MDA), and the International Wellness Expo (IWE) by Green Wellness, united under the banner of Health Summit Asia 2026 to broaden the event’s reach and strengthen its specialised offerings.
Richard Teo, Executive Chairman of Qube Integrated Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. said, “This year’s edition has shown encouraging momentum from the quality of regional participation to the volume of meaningful business conversations and strategic partnerships. With a growing appetite for collaboration and innovation in healthcare, we are excited to build on this foundation as we look toward curating an even more impactful and inclusive platform in 2026.”
SEACare 2025, organised by Kuala Lumpur-based Qube Integrated Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., was also supported by a range of industry and corporate partners, including the Malaysian Pharmacists Society (MPS), International Wellness Expo (IWE), Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), Department of International Trade Promotion (Thailand), German Health Alliance, International Medical University (IMU), Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau, and the Malaysia Medical Device Manufacturers Association (PERANTIM). The event also featured a strong social impact component through ongoing collaboration with the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM).
