Remove calluses the natural way

January 12, 2015

Calluses – the thick and dry skin that develops on your feet due to excessive friction – can be painful and irritating. And if left untreated, they may lead to skin infection and ulceration.

Here are some ways that you can remove calluses naturally:

By soaking your feet

There are 3 ingredients that you can pick: chamomile tea, baking soda or Epsom salt.

Chamomile tea might stain your feet a bit, but don’t worry because you can easily remove the stains later. Soak your feet for 30 minutes and you will feel your skin soften.

If you use Epsom salt, do the same: soak your feet for half an hour in a tray of water filled with several spoons of Eposm salt.

If you would like to use baking soda instead, add 3 tablespoons of it to warm water and soak your feet in for half an hour.

By scrubbing

Use a foot file or a pumice stone after a warm shower. Rub your feet with them vigorously in a circular motion. Rinse the pumice stone to get it wet again and remove the dead skin. Make sure you rub your feet until they are pink for best results.

You can also remove calluses by walking barefooted on a wet and sandy beach.

By using natural ingredients
Take 1 teaspoon of lemon juice, one teaspoon of dried chamomile and one clove of crushed garlic and apply it to the callus daily until its gone.

You can also use raisins: cut 2 to 3 raisins in half and apply them to the affected area (with the cut facing the skin) and secure by putting a plaster overnight.

You can also slice a piece of onion, sprinkle it with a few drops of lemon juice and some salt. Tape it to your callus overnight, and repeat it until the calluses are gone.
