Chinese woman suffers stroke after using mobile phone for 20-hours straight

A woman in China suffered a stroke after using her mobile phone for 20 hours straight in a crowded train.

The 47-year-old woman was travelling for work from China’s Henan Province to the city of Guangzhou, according to local media reports.

But as soon as she alighted from the train, she fainted and had to be rushed to The First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University, where doctors found out that she had a stroke.She suffered multiple blood clots and had to undergo an emergency operation to remove several blood clots from her brain measuring nearly 2cm.

The deputy head of the hospital’s neurology department said that as there were many people on board the train, the woman had stayed in the same posture and position throughout most of her ride.

Her head was tilted to the right and looking at her mobile phone, which had put significant pressure on the blood vessels on her neck, he said.

The woman told news outlets that she was shocked to learn that her actions had resulted in a stroke.

She said that she has always felt healthy and had no known medical problems.

However, doctors noted that there have been an increasing number of younger patients suffering from the same condition.

They advised mobile phone users to adopt a good posture, not to stay too long in the same position and take breaks.
